For the first time in a while, I switched out my daily run for a walk. Inspired in part by this Brain Pickings reflective edition on walks and in part by a feeling that it is time to take stock.
I’m not much of a new year resolution person. I’m a pre-new year resolutions person. I tend to start early – by at least a month so I’ve a head start on the new year resolution takers. This blog was the outcome of one such resolution. And while my resolutions for the new year are mostly done, there isn’t one that will help me take stock periodically. So today on, I’ve decided to instate a #thankfultuesday walk into my weekly run plans. A day to stroll and not run, to slow down and observe where I am rather than where I’m headed, to think about all the things I’ve dumped into the – I’d-rather-not-think-about-it bucket. The feeling of thankfulness comes automatically when you see where you’re and the path to this point.
